Sometimes it's not what you say, or even how you say it, but what the other person thought you said...
Had this strip been posted earlier, I would have been a bit concerned about using the language that I did, however by this time I had felt that I had established the tone of the strip to the point where the audience would accept it - especially since the choice of words were both linguistically correct and relevant to the joke. |
