Liska isn't too far out of line here... Compared to what happens to relationships in a lot of country-western songs, losing a radio isn't too big of an emotional blow....
My father was a pretty big fan of country music back when this strip was written and played it a lot back then. It inevitably left an impression on me and gave me an urge to try my hand at writing a song of my own.
The lyrics I came up with might not quite be ready for the Opry just yet, but I couldn't resist including them in the strip...
