Poor Liska... Poor Skippy! He really should know better by now than to ask questions he doesn't really want the answers to.
Liska's line in the third panel was inspired by a passage from The Cunning Little Vixen in which the heroine, in a moment of self-pitying loneliness observed, "Everyone will be happy, only Sharp-Ears will be alone, alone with her empty heart." In the novel the line poetically expresses a rather poignant sentiment, which I wanted reference here, albeit in a somewhat more light-hearted melodramatic manner.
And again, more fun trying my hand at writing country-western lyrics in the first panel... :)
