It goes without saying that finding something as quickly as possible for Skippy and Liska to wear was something of a priority in this strip. Too bad none of the clothes Liska knitted for him in the previous storyline apparently fit Skippy's human form. :)
It was fun designing their human character models, which included not just their physical characteristics, but also their wardrobe, choosing clothes that both fit their personalities and resembled their animal forms. Thus, Skippy's stereotypically nerdy cardigan and Liska's punkish leather ensemble.
Sharp eyed readers who grew up in Canada will no doubt recognize the Tickle Trunk from Mr. Dressup, which was my favourite T.V. show from when I was a toddler.
