This is another one of those surreal cartoon physics jokes, and the first of a series of running gags where Boofer drops an increasingly improbable variety of heavy objects on poor Skippy. Liska's question is rather pertinent; how the heck did he get a watermelon up there?!
It's also another example of a strip I could probably draw better if I did it today. Make the melon bigger and messier, fit all the elements in composition better, play up the facial expressions a little better. |
