As Liska correctly points out, in the original tale Brer Rabbit escapes by pleading with Brer Fox not to throw him into a thorny briar patch, claiming that it would hurt, thereby tricking his enemy into unwittingly releasing him.
Liska, being much more clever than Brer Fox (in her own mind at least) is thus equally unwittingly convinced that this is a good idea, despite poor Skippy's sincere claims to the contrary. Sometimes he really would be better off if she were actually trying to kill him... :) |
